The Road Trip in detail
What characterizes the Netherlands?
The Netherlands is known for its flat landscapes of canals, tulip fields, windmills, cycle paths, and narrow gabled houses . Amsterdam, the capital, is home to numerous museums, including the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the house where Anne Frank lived in hiding and wrote her diary during World War II.
If this organized road trip tempts you, don't hesitate to join me for a discovery of Holland.
Departure
For the start of our road trip to Netherland, we will meet in Welkenraedt. This will also be a chance for all the trip participants to get to know each other.

Day 1
We'll hit the road early in the morning via the German autobahn to quickly reach De Hoge Veluwe National Park, one of the largest national parks in the Netherlands. It covers 54.5 km² of dunes and forests purchased by Helene Kröller-Müller and Anton Kröller at the beginning of the 20th century and bequeathed to the state in 1935. Upon arrival at the park, we'll head to our campsite. In the afternoon, we'll have time to explore the park by bike and visit the Kröller-Müller Museum, a modern art museum for all culture lovers, which houses works by Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Pablo Picasso.

Day 2
We'll hit the road again to Giethoorn, also known as the Venice of the Netherlands. Here we'll have the opportunity to take a boat tour through the village's canals. We'll also have plenty of time to explore the village on foot and enjoy a drink at one of the many terraces.

Day 3
Our stage of the day takes us through a landscape marked by the cultivation of vegetables and various plants, including of course tulips. On our way, we will cross the Markerwaarddijk dike which crosses the inland sea of Ijsselmeer and Markermeer, to reach our destination Enkheuizen. In the afternoon we will be able to visit this typically Dutch municipality and enjoy a convivial meal .

Day 4
Today we'll be driving from Markermeer to Amsterdam. Along the way, we'll also be able to stop in the typically Dutch towns of Hoorn, Edam, and Monnickendam. We'll arrive at the campsite in Amsterdam.

Day 5 - 6
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, welcomes us today. It is known for its artistic heritage, its elaborate canal system, and its narrow gabled houses. We will take a guided tour of the city. For museum lovers, Amsterdam is home to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, featuring the works of Rembrandt and Vermeer, as well as the Stedelijk Museum, dedicated to modern art. We will visit the Anne Frank Museum, dedicated to the young Jewish writer of World War II. The second day will be a free day during which you will have the opportunity to take a tour of the city and perhaps discover some unusual places.

Day 7
After our visit to Amsterdam, we continue our journey to the Keukenhof flower park, which is visited by around 1.4 million people each year between mid-March and mid-May.
Keukenhof Flower Park is one of the largest flower gardens in the world, with over 800 different varieties of tulips and many other types of flowers blooming in the park every spring. After visiting the park, we will continue our journey to Gouda.

Day 8
Today's program is Gouda, known for its cheese, which is still sold on Thursday mornings at the traditional market we will attend. Gouda is also known for its candles, pipes, and syrup wafers. We will also have the opportunity to participate in the Gouda Cheese Experience, where we will be able to taste Gouda cheese.

Day 9
Today we will take the road to reach Kinderdijk and the 19 windmills, which date back to 1738 and were used for water management in this region.
Kinderdijk is located below sea level; the area would be completely submerged without the mills. Kinderdijk has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 and is therefore a very special attraction.
It will also be time to say goodbye at a farewell lunch during which, I am sure, we will look back on the most beautiful adventures of our trip.
Deviations from the planned route are possible. A possible change of route should always be planned for.
